Indonesia Ministry Itinerary

Aug 8-22, 2007

 

Place:  Jakarta & Bali, Indonesia

Ministry:  Couples Retreat, Sunday ministry, Monday Business people’s gathering

Pastors:  Long-time friends Frans and Wanti Worwor.  Frans was a very successful businessman, and Wanti has been a leading voice in the Christian home schooling movement. They at one time r4aised up a strong group of churches across Indonesia, initially with a connection with Bob Weiner and Maranatha (which concentrated on a university base for church).  They later left that work, and have been associated with Rice Brooks (a later version of Maranatha which became MorningStar which now is Every Nation) for several years residing in Tulsa. They have since returned to Jakarta and raised up another vibrant church.

 

Mon Aug 13     

                Depart: Portland-Int’l, OR (PDX) at 2:40PM (via Tokyo)

                Arrive: Singapore  at 12:55AM on Wednesday, August 15  19 hours travel time.  Overnighting in the airport—currently no rooms available at the airport hotel.  Pray for an opening

Wed Aug 15                    

            Depart: Singapore at 10:00AM        

                Arrive: Jakarta, Indonesia at 10:35AM

                Depart: Jakarta at 6:00PM                

                Arrive: Bali at 8:40PM         Our hosts are giving us a hotel near the airport.  Pray for a good rest and spiritual preparation

 

Thur  Aug 16   Couples Conference Day 1

·         2 morning and afternoon sessions

·         Evening not yet scheduled       Pray for a great anointing, and especially for wisdom in speaking in very sensitive areas in a cross-cultural setting. Our desire that every couple be touched by the Lord and leave strengthened in their marriage and work

·         Would like to be able to link up with Nemo and Helga Bahari, former PBC students who are pastoring on this island

Fri  Aug 17  Couples Conference Day 2

·         2 morning and afternoon sessions

·         Evening formal dinner outside

·         Pray for a deepening continuing deepening of connection between us and the people

Sat  Aug 18  Couples Conference Day 3   Concludes at noon

FLIGHT:

                Depart: Bali (DPS) at 3:25PM

                Arrives: Jakarta (JKT) at 4:05PM      Pray for a powerful anointing on the reaffirmation of vows we will be leading them in.    Pray for a restful evening in preparation for ministry in the church the next day

 

Sun Aug 19  Jakarta Church Service       Pray for an anointing on the both of us to be a blessing and strength to this congregation.  Pray for the mind of the Lord in addressing what is really needed in the sermon (Bob preaching) Pray for a strong connection with those pastors, who are very gifted and influential in Indonesia. 

 

Mon Aug 20  Day: not scheduled

                Evening: Speaking to a business people’s monthly gathering I (Bob)am out of my league here, never having been in business!  But I do feel I have a word from the Lord based on the life of Joseph which I have titled “Prospering in Perilous Times”

Tues Aug 21  Day: not scheduled     Hope to see some sights, do a little shopping

FLIGHTS:

                Depart: Jakarta, Indonesia (CGK) at 8:15PM

                Arrive: Singapore-Changi, Singapore (SIN) at 10:50PM            This time we were able to get an overnight room in the airport in Singapore.  Pray for a good rest in preparation for the long trip home

Wed  Aug 23                   

            Depart: Singapore at 6:00AM

                Arrive: Tokyo at 2:25PM

                Depart: Tokyo at 3:25PM

                Arrive: Portland at 8:30AM This is the opening day of classes at PBC.  I (Bob)am scheduled to teach that morning, but obviously will not!  But I do have classes the next 2 days.  Then on the Sunday we head out for the young people/young adult retreat at Wild Horse Canyon for 4 days.  Pray for good health, a continued anointing, and a great connect with the next generation!
